Labour law

Italy has no statutory national minimum wage; pay floors are set by National Collective Labour Agreements (CCNL) which cover the vast majority of workers. The standard working week is 40 hours. Employment contracts and dismissal procedures are regulated by the Civil Code and Jobs Act (2015).

Worker rights

Workers are entitled to at least 4 weeks paid annual leave. Maternity leave is 5 months at 80% of salary. Italy's social security system (INPS) provides pensions, sickness benefit, and an unemployment allowance (NASpI) of up to 24 months.
